METHOD FOR SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF INGROWN NAIL RECURRENCES Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2727645 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used for surgical management of recurrent ingrown nails. Method involves excision of periungular beak, wound closure and ligation of sutures. Nail injury point is incised up to 0.1 cm of its proximal edge with a growth layer, a root and a nail matrix. Distal end of the wound is incised a triangular isosceles skin area with a horizontally located side, a vertex directed towards the finger center. Two sutures are used to pierce skin in middle and base of triangular wound. Anterior skin elevation is raised, that is skin elevation in front of the distal edge of the nail, under the nail lower edge, ligaments are ligated. Two sutures are pierced by the distal end of the nail bed, one suture is sutured under the bottom, the second - behind the deep part of the side wall of the wound. Skin is pierced in front of the proximal end of the nail and ligature ends are ligated. Two sutures are used to suture the proximal end of the wound. Continuous suture is used to pierce a longitudinal wound, for this purpose, nail ligaments are sutured one half of the length of the nail bed, the lateral wound edge, the nail ligaments under the distal edge of the nail bed are intradermally per same length, the anterior skin elevation edge, that is skin elevation in front of the distal edge of the nail, and skin in the lateral edge of the wound. Ligatures are drawn, the skin is compared with the nail bed under the protrusion of the nail plate; the suture ends are ligated.

EFFECT: method provides reducing recurrences of the disease, cosmetic effect ensured by excision of lowering of skin elevation in front of distal edge of nail, under edge of nail plate and application of combination of sutures.
