SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used to treat an ingrown nail using laser radiation. Laser destruction of the nail matrix is carried out using a light guide inserted all the way into the pocket formed after the removal of the lateral part of the nail plate. Exposure to laser radiation is carried out at three to five points of the growth zone of the nail from the ingrown side, the tissue of the lateral periungual ridge after laser destruction and excision of its tissues is additionally subjected to polishing by contact vaporization with laser radiation to healthy tissues. Exposure to laser radiation is carried out by a diode infrared laser with a wavelength of 915-1064 nm. The impact of laser radiation on the nail matrix is carried out by radiation with a power of 3-4 W in continuous mode, the duration of exposure at each point is 2-4 seconds. Laser destruction and excision of the tissues of the lateral periungual ridge and grinding of its surface is carried out for 30-90 seconds by radiation with a power of 4-6 W in a pulsed mode with a pulse and pause duration of 50-100 ms and 10-30 ms, respectively.

EFFECT: method provides minimally traumatic treatment that does not have age restrictions and excludes relapses due to the effect of laser radiation on the nail matrix, performed using a light guide inserted all the way into the pocket formed after removal of the side part of the nail plate.
