SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device to drive a fastening element into a base. The device comprises a transmission element made as capable of movement between the initial position and the fitting position to transfer energy to the fastening element, and a slowdown element to slow down the transmission ratio. The slowdown element comprises an impact element made of metal and/or alloy with impact surface for the transmission element and a shock absorbing element made of elastomer. The mass of the shock absorbing element makes at least 15% of the impact element mass.
