FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: corona discharge ozone generator comprises two discharge electrodes arranged coaxially, connected to a high voltage source. The inner electrode rotates about the outer electrode and has corona elements on the surface. The electrodes have the shape of cylinders which turn into cones. At least one electrode or part thereof can move along a common axis of rotation to adjust the interelectrode gap. The corona elements are in the form of spikes or flexible elements made of conducting material. Flexible elements enable self-cleaning of surfaces of discharge electrodes from oxides through periodic contact of the rotating inner electrode with the outer electrode in the absence of voltage between the electrodes.

EFFECT: high efficiency of the ozone generator owing stable corona discharge, high discharge current, high reliability and service life of the ozone generator.
