FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: electromagnetic coupling contains toroidal magnetic circuit enclosing the ring winding, drive shaft disks and driven shaft disks having alternating sectors out of the ferromagnetic and non magnetic materials. In the electromagnetic coupling additionally ring permanent magnets are installed at ends of the magnetic circuit. The magnets are magnetised axially and opposite to the magnetomotive force of the winding. At that the disk sectors out of the nonmagnetic material are current conducting.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and assurance of the possibility to couple the shafts with different speeds of rotation, expansion of application area upon keeping large transferred moment and high reliability of the coupling.
