FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to electric engineering and intended for protection from short-circuiting arc occurring in high-voltage equipment. The electric arc quenching device comprises shortcircuiter with gas drive, and additionally it contains a fibre-optic sensor for optic emission, which output is connected to optical explosive cartridge, at that output of optical explosive cartridge through gas drive is coupled to input of shortcircuiter.
EFFECT: reduced operating threshold and increased operational speed of arc protection device.
