FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: sintered porous tungsten carcass is produced by the mixing of tungsten power with activator additive powder composed of nickel and iron powders, the compaction and sintering. Tungsten power with particle size of 1-0.5 mcm is used in claimed process. Powders are mixed by planetary-type mill at the ratio between the weight of the mix of powders and that of balls equal to 1:10 with addition of isopropyl alcohol and at that between isopropyl alcohol volume and that of the mix of powders equal to 2:1. Then, drying is performed to a complete removal of alcohol. Compaction is conducted with the addition of ethanol to the mix of powders at the ratio of 1-5 vol %. Sintering is performed in atmosphere hydrogen at 800°C for 30 minutes.

EFFECT: lower sintering temperature and higher strength of sintered tungsten carcass.
