FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of calcium metal of high purity. The method comprises placing an evacuated distillatory with a copper-calcium alloy in a preheated shaft furnace and vacuum distillation of calcium from the copper-calcium alloy. The distillatory is heated in the shaft furnace for 1 hour to vacuum distillation trigger temperature and vacuum distillation is carried out at 1020-1040°C for 5 hours, wherein the distillation temperature does not exceed the distillation trigger temperature by more than 20°C.
EFFECT: reducing low-volatility impurities in the obtained calcium.
