FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of pure calcium in terms of gas admixtures. In preheated shaft furnace vacuum distiller with copper-calcium alloy is installed and vacuum distillation of calcium from copper-calcium alloy is carried out. Prior to vacuum distillation copper-calcium alloy is degassed by stepped heating of vacuum distiller with copper-calcium alloy in shaft furnace at continuous evacuation of distiller from temperature of 330 °C to temperature of 920 °C with exposure at each stage of heating at temperature of maxima of gas release to allow reducing gas release to constant value, after which the distiller is heated to distillation start temperature and vacuum distillation is carried out at temperature not exceeding distillation start temperature for more than 20 °C. Total time of degassing and distillation is 8 hours.
EFFECT: reduced gas and gas-forming impurities content in obtained calcium.
