FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to electrical machine with air cooling, in particular to AC generator of a transportation vehicle as well as to starter generator of a transportation vehicle. The electrical machine with air cooling comprises the rotor, which includes the rotor shaft and excitation winding as an automatic clutch controlled electromagnetically. The electrical machine comprises also fan impeller mounted at the rotor shaft so that it may be rotated and connected of disconnected from the rotor by the automatic clutch. Between the fan impeller and rotor there is a driving element and spring-loaded element creating initial tension required for keeping the fan impeller and rotor at distance from each other in unenergised state of the excitation winding. The fan impeller is mounted at the rotor shaft so that it may be moved axially along it. In energised state of the excitation winding the fan impeller is coupled by the driving element with rotor by force closure and/or form closure.
EFFECT: increased efficiency factor for the electrical machine, simplified design of the electrical machine using automatic clutch.
