FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: thickness measurement is carried out in N cycles of monitoring, during the first monitoring cycle on the upper surface of the controlled item in a random point they place an ultrasonic transducer, a probing pulse is emitted into the controlled item, an echo-signal is received from it as reflected from the bottom surface of the item, the received echo-signal is saved, N-1 times they change the position of the transducer on the surface of the controlled item, and for each new position they repeat the control cycle, at the same time the transducer is made as separate, the position of the receiving and emitting transducers on the controlled item surface is selected randomly, for each cycle of control they save geometric coordinates of position of the emitting and receiving converters, and received signals are processed.
EFFECT: expansion of functional capabilities of the method of ultrasonic echo-pulse thickness gauging.
