FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method of coating production on metal product surface includes product surface preparation, product and conducting material arrangement treatment zone, vacuum ensuring in the treatment zone, negative potential application to the product and separately to the conducting material, vacuum arc excitation on the conducting material, arc burns in vapours of the said material creating plasma, impingement, cleaning and heating of the product surface by ions of the conducting material, accumulation and diffusion of ions of the conducting material on the product surface in gas at temperature of said surface below temperature of product material softening with coating creation. Conducting material out of titanium or titanium-based alloy is used, and accumulation and diffusion of the ions of the conducting material on the product surface are performed in reaction gas (nitrogen) or in reaction gas (nitrogen) and inert gas (argon) at negative potential on product 80-100 V, and the product surface impingement by gas ions with energy 20-40 keV.
EFFECT: increased wear resistance of metal product upon its heat resistance keeping.
