FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: magnetic phase of a magnetic liquid - magnetite - is obtained using an electrochemical method by dissolving St 3 electrodes in an electroconductive aqueous NaCl solution, a stabilising substance - sodium oleate - for simultaneous coating of the surface of magnetite particles with an adsorbed layer of the stabilising substance. As a result of hydrolysis in said conditions, a water-based magnetic liquid is formed, the magnetic liquid having the following properties: volume ratio of magnetite 5-10%, density 1100-1250 kg/m3, saturation magnetisation 12-18 kA/m.
EFFECT: faster process of forming a magnetic liquid while maintaining high magnetic properties thereof.
