FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the machine building, and is intended for explosion protection of the process equipment, in particular the vessels protection by burst disc against damage during explosion of the flammable mixture. Method of testing of the burst discs means that explosion of vapours of flammable fluid is performed, the explosion vessel is equipped with the disc securing assembly, that is installed in the end part of the vessel, covered by the safety screen, parallel with the mechanical pressure indicator with engage switch of the indicator motor. The explosion chamber with ignition plug equipped with ignition button is located opposite to the end part of the vessel covered with the safety screen. At that the vessel is provided with unions for the explosion vessel blowing after the test. Flammable fluid filling union with the plug is secured on the vessel wall above ignition plug terminals. The following elements are involved in tests: pressure indicator, ignition plug, flammable fluid filling union, explosion vessel venting unions selected according to breaking point at least two times higher than that of tested burst disc. Explosion pressure is registered by the mechanical pressure indicator. After each test the internal vessel volume is blown by air. The necessary concentration of vapours and air mixture is ensured by fluid dosing by pipette though the union, that after fluid filling is closed with plug. The necessary volume of the flammable fluid (for example, acetone C3H6O) to create the stoichiometric concentration in the vessel is calculated as per the definite formula.

EFFECT: invention increases efficiency of the process equipment protection against explosions due to increased fast response of the disc assembly, and reliability of its operation by comparison of data of the analytical calculation and test determination of the disc clear opening for the exact method of its installation on the vessel.
