SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and is applicable for self-contained gastrointestinal endoscopy. A gastrointestinal probe mover comprises a capsule-like body with in-built power supply, light source, video camera, data recording and transmission unit, gastrointestinal measurements storage unit, gastrointestinal monitoring sensors connected to a controller, and electrically-actuated oscillatory mechanism. The oscillatory mechanism is configured inertial and comprises an eccentric cam mounted on a shaft of the electric actuator connected to the controller; a rotation plane of the eccentric cam is parallel with a longitudinal plane of the body; a cylindrical external surface of the body of the device bears structural elements generating a resistance force directed along a long axis of the device; the force is different when the device moves forward and backward along the gastrointestinal tract.

EFFECT: using the invention allows extending the range of gastrointestinal probing appliances.
