FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and is applicable for self-contained gastrointestinal endoscopy. A self-contained gastrointestinal probing device comprises a capsule-like body with in-built power supply, light source, video camera, data recording and transmission unit, ambient measurements storage unit, gastrointestinal monitoring sensors, active motion mode modulation unit comprising an inertial oscillatory mechanism generating a cyclic sign-variable inertia force along a long axis of the body for the forced motion of the device along the gastrointestinal tract, and a gastrointestinal analysis controller connected to an actuator of the inertial oscillatory mechanism. A generatrix of an external surface of a portion of the body bears structural elements configured in the form of a helical rake to generate a resistance force directed along the long axis of the device; this force is different when the device moves forward and backward along the gastrointestinal tract; the controller is additionally connected to a signal receiver from an external device.
EFFECT: using invention allows extending the range of gastrointestinal probing appliances.
