FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and is applicable for designing self-contained gastrointestinal endoscopy equipment. A method for moving a probing device along the gastrointestinal tract consists in that fact that a body of the device is capsule-like and comprises a power supply, a light source, a video camera, a data recording and transmission unit, an ambient measurements storage unit, gastrointestinal monitoring sensors connected to a controller supplying a control signal to an electrical actuator of an oscillation mechanism and receiving a signal from a signal receiver. The oscillation mechanism is configured inertial, wherein a shaft of the electrical actuator bears an eccentric cam, a rotation plane of which is parallel with a long axis of the body. Activating the electrical actuator of the inertial oscillation mechanism generates oscillation movements of the capsule along the long axis, whereas a cylindrical external surface of the body has structural elements mounted along a generatrix and configured as a helical rake to generate a resistance force accompanying the backward motion of the device greater along the gastrointestinal tract than that when the device moves forward.
EFFECT: using invention allows extending the range of gastrointestinal probing appliances.
