METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF ANTIRETROVIRAL THERAPY OUTCOMES IN CHRONIC HEPATITIS B Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC G01N33/53

Abstract RU 2571493 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely gastroenterology, and aims at predicting the routine antiretroviral therapy outcomes in chronic hepatitis B. That is ensured by measuring patient's blood serum α-interferon and induced α-interferon. An ultrasonic scanning of the spleen aims at measuring its section. A discriminator function is calculated by formula: DF = 5.3769x1-0.8186x2-0.4369x3, wherein DF is the discriminator function; x1 is the spleen section, mm; x2 is the serum α-interferon concentration, IU/ml; x3 is the induced α-interferon concentration, IU/ml. The values 5.3769; - 0.8186; and - 0.4369 are discriminator function coefficients. The derived discriminator function is compared to a constant which is 296.1005. If the discriminator function is more than 296.1005, a recurrence is predicted, whereas the discriminator function of 296.1005 or less makes it possible to predict a stable response to the routine antiretroviral therapy of chronic hepatitis B.

EFFECT: using the presented method enables predicting the outcomes before the routine antiretroviral therapy of chronic hepatitis B starts by means of the ultrasonic scanning of the spleen and the blood α-interferon concentration measurement.
