METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF DEVELOPING METABOLIC SYNDROME IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC VIRAL HEPATITIS C Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2684524 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to infectious diseases and hepatology, and can be used for prediction of metabolic syndrome development in chronic viral hepatitis C in the absence of antiviral therapy. That is ensured by determining a body weight index and concentration of the following blood values in a patient with chronic hepatitis C: alanine aminotransferase, low-density lipoproteins, immunoreactive insulin, total thyroxine. That is followed by calculating the value of the discriminant function by formula, after which the nomogram is used to define the percentage of the probability of developing metabolic syndrome in the patients with chronic hepatitis C 5–10 years after the antiviral therapy.

EFFECT: invention provides more accurate prediction of the probability of developing metabolic syndrome in the patients with chronic hepatitis C in 5–10 years with no antiviral therapy.
