FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of fire safety and power engineering, namely, to methods and devices for testing devices of fire (explosion) prevention from sparking (defect arc) arising in the area of electric circuit break. The method is based on imitation of spark gap resistance parameters by imitation of high-frequency components of sparking current, characterising forming and attenuating stages of "origination-suppression of spark" cycle at the border of the area of zero values of sparking current, and spark gap width. The level of fire and explosion protection and reliability of systems is assessed by the imitated integral parameter depending on the sum of imitated sparking current and shunting current, spark gap width and sparking intensity, and also on the characteristic of imitated heat-removing properties of electric equipment and environment.
EFFECT: increased validity of assessment of hazard level of a monitored object by a device of fire (explosion, hidden fault) prevention from sparking in an electric circuit and (or) from other faults due to increased validity of device testing result.
