FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the safety of electrical networks and electrical installations of alternating current (hereinafter referred to as «EN or EI»). With continuous monitoring of the state of the electrical network or electrical installation, an integrated protection device (IPD) is able to detect, analyse, predict and offer the consumer the most rational decision-making option to turn off or not turn off the sparking controlled section of the power plant or power plant or having other types of failure, at least as one of the short circuit current, overload current, leakage current, network voltage and their deviations from the required values. The validity of the decision is based on a quantitative assessment of its reliability with the confidence probability of its implementation specified by the developer of the controlled object. IPD also offers a specific address of the sparking controlled area from a certain set of them. When generating a command to turn off the controlled area and/ or displaying the results of prediction, for example, the maximum temperature value in the area of the spark gap and the time of its achievement, as well as displaying data at the address of the sparking controlled area and data of the decision being made concerning the quantitative assessment.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of predicting temperature changes in the area of the spark gap and the moment in time when its maximum dangerous value is reached, based on the thermal energy accumulated on it from the impact of a defective arc during a given duration of one measurement cycle.
