FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry. A method of producing L-ornithine is disclosed. The method includes: a) fermentation of an L-ornithine secreting bacterium in which there is overexpression of a polynucleotide which encodes a polypeptide having the activity of an L-ornithine exporter and whose amino acid sequence is identical to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2, b) accumulation of L-ornithine in the medium to obtain a fermentation broth. The method is carried out under the condition that, pEC7lysE plasmid is not used for overexpression, said plasmid being deposited under registration number DSM23239.
EFFECT: invention increases the efficiency of the enzymatic process of producing L-ornithine.
