SUBSTANCE: method comprises separation of portion of food from the cock, transporting it to a destination, and feeding to the trough. A portion of food is formed in the cock, which is raised, and separation is carried out by cutting stalks connecting the portion with the cock. The device comprises a vehicle for delivery to the place of a portion of feed, and grippers (11) and the box interacting with it. The box is designed as a grab bucket (1), inside which using the mechanism of movement relative to the latter a suspension (9) with grippers (11) is placed, having a closing and opening mechanism. The bucket jaw (1) is provided with a knife.

EFFECT: simplified design, reduced energy consumption, enhanced functional capabilities and improved performance characteristics.
