FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: starting gas mixture containing a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide is fed into a reactor in which there is a catalyst. The catalyst used is a composite oxide which includes cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), neodymium (Nd) and calcium (Ca) ions, wherein the molar ratio of substances in the catalyst corresponds to the formula NdaCabCucNidCoeOf, where a=0, 1, 2; b=0, 1, 2; c=0, 1; d=0, 1, 2; e=0, 1, 2; f=3, 4, 5. The catalyst is obtained by dissolving starting substances in water, evaporating the formed solution to thickening, drying the obtained product in a muffle furnace at 250-350°C and calcining for 4-6 hours at 900-1000°C. As the starting substances water-soluble compounds of Nd, Ca, Co, Ni, Cu are used, which form oxides of the said metals when calcined.
EFFECT: high conversion of methane and output of the end product, simple technique of carrying out the method and cutting costs by carrying out the process in the absence of inert gases, using the catalyst obtained using a simpler method by avoiding a complex step of grinding solid starting reagents and low catalyst calcination temperature.
