FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: starting gas mixture containing a mixture of methane and molecular oxygen is fed into a reactor. A catalyst is placed in the reactor and the empty volume is filled with an inert cap. The catalyst is a composite oxide of general formula NdaCabCucNidCOeOf, where a=0, 1, 2; b=0, 1, 2; c=0, 1; d=0, 1, 2; e=0, 1, 2; f=3, 4, 5. The catalyst is obtained by dissolving starting substances in water, evaporating the formed solution to thickening, drying the obtained product in a muffle furnace at 250-350°C and calcining for 4-6 hours at 900-1000°C. As the starting substances water-soluble compounds of Nd, Ca, Co, Ni, Cu are used, which form oxides of the said metals when calcined.
EFFECT: high conversion of methane and output of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, simple technique of carrying out the method and low cost of the process.
