SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of stable dispersions and microdispersions of benzoyl peroxide. A benzoyl peroxide suspension consists of micronised benzoyl peroxide in concentration of 1-30% combined with an aqueous suspending fluid medium consisting of water and propylene glycol. Concentration of propylene glycol in the suspending fluid medium is sufficient to reduce surface tension of water to less than 62 dyn/cm. The benzoyl peroxide suspension according to the invention is used to produce a topical pharmaceutical product containing benzoyl peroxide as an active ingredient.
EFFECT: invention provides an improved suspension which is free of irritants and is compatible with equipment required for production.
