FIELD: pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is a method for acne treatment, comprising topical application of an effective amount of an aqueous formulation with reduced irritant effect, containing water, propylene glycol, benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin. The concentration of propylene glycol is 1-4 times the concentration of benzoyl peroxide in the composition, the ratio of water and propylene glycol concentrations in the composition is at least 12:1, the concentration of benzoyl peroxide in the composition is 2.0% to 4.0% w/w, clindamycin concentration in the composition is 0.5% to 5.0% w/w, and the effective amount of aqueous formulation is applied once a day to the acne-affected skin areas of the patient in need thereof.
EFFECT: reduced irritation on the skin.
