FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: string cracks are detected on an image of a blood serum phase. That is combined with marking a set of dark spot D pixels and pixels of set S belonging to an image skeleton and having a great brightness dispersion; that is followed by detecting sub-set R, which is an intersection of points of sets D and S belonging to radial cracks and related to each of them by a system of short wavy processes, and if the number of the processes exceeds a pre-set limit n, a main diagnostic sign is stated. Identifying the processes uses respective constant thresholds T1 and T2 of maximum and minimum gradient length to identify a set of pixels C of processes, which when compared to the threshold make it possible to state a fragment of phase image belonging to the string crack. To increase a probability of reliable detection of the string crack, each step appears to calculate variable thresholds λn for T1 and T2 on the ground of a one-loop adaptive pseudogradient procedure at µ interval making it possible to reduce a probability of false alert when the image is inhomogeneous.

EFFECT: invention enables identifying markers of human hypoxic brain damage on the image of the blood serum phase.
