FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: current-conducting tip (1) for usage in gas metal arc welding comprises the following: body (3) of metal material with tubular base part (4) and two or more holders (5a, 5b) stretched in axial direction from the main part front end; at least one channel (7) for wire feed, which is stretched axially throughout the body, wherein welding wire is placed and fed; slots (10a, 10b) placed between the holders in order to separate them from each other, and spring-loaded facility (11) surrounding the holders and acting on them with radial compressive force that helps the holders remain separated in cold status so that no pressure is applied to surface of the welding wire shell introduced into the channel for wire feed, and when heated up to temperature exceeding the softening point of the welding material the holders are compressed by the spring force radially inwards in order to apply pressure to surface of the welding wire shell placed into the channel for wire feed.
EFFECT: invention allows manufacturing of simple and effective current-conducting tip with beneficial service life.
