FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: look is fixed at luminous point. Test images in form of achromatic sinusoidal grid are shown on computer monitor screen. Test images are made in form of twenty equal squares, which are applied around point of look fixation with the total visual angle 50 degrees on the horizontal, with 20 degree inwards displacement from look fixation point and 30 degree outwards. Test images are shown with frequency in the range 22-30 Hz, increasing their contrast range from 0 to maximal. Time of response of perception by patient of direction of stripes in test image is fixed. If time of image recognition is higher than 10 seconds in one of 20 shown squares, or time exceeding 2.5 seconds in 8 of 20 shown squares, glaucoma is diagnosed. To realise the method device, containing patient's monitor, doctor's monitor, connected to control unit, photoelectric converter, isolated from external illumination, is used. Patient's monitor is installed inside case on back wall. Photoelectric converter, connected with inlet of amplifier, output of which is connected with inlet of analogue-digital converter, output of which is connected with inlet of control unit, output of which is connected with patient's monitor, is installed outside working field of monitor. Hole, in which patient's ocular with collecting lens, is made on front panel of non-transparent case.
EFFECT: inventions make it possible to increase reliability of diagnostics, which is achieved due to application of doubled spatial frequency in combination with threshold contrast.
