FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: device with irregular bispiral-conical light guide structure comprises a source and a receiver of optical radiation placed in a measurement circuit with electric output, transmitting and receiving light guides optically connected accordingly to the source and receiver of radiation, which together with a common light guide are made in the form of a Y-shaped splitter, and the end by the common light guide is connected to environment, at the same time the measurement system includes two additional electric outputs, and in the Y-shaped splitter in front of the common light guide there is a turn part made of longitudinally twisted transmitting and receiving light guides, at the same time the common light guide of Y-shaped splitter is made as conically narrowing as it approaches the end. According to the second invention, it is achieved by the fact that in the device the common light guide and the turn part of the Y-shaped splitter are made with a non-transparent coating applied onto their external side surfaces. Also in the proposed invention the method is disclosed to measure liquid level with subsequent measurement of controlled liquid temperature.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurements and expansion of functional capabilities.
