SUBSTANCE: method includes encoding a first image signal for generating a main stream, encoding a second image signal for generating a dependent stream, inserting a dependent delimiter in the form of a NAL unit, which includes a nal_unit_type parameter, having a value different from the value of said access unit delimiter parameter, indicating the boundary between access units. In the method, the dependent delimiter indicates the boundary between frames in the dependent stream at the beginning of the frame.
EFFECT: easy detection of image boundaries in a dependent bit stream.
