FIELD: items of personal and household use.

SUBSTANCE: electric vacuum cleaner contains a case having a connecting input, coupler with a soaking aperture, a dust collecting chamber communicating with a connecting input, an electric fan and a dust intake control unit. The removable dust collecting unit is intended for accumulation of dust and is mounted removably in the chamber of waste container. The electric fan has soaking up aperture communicating with the case of the waste container. The dust intake control unit contains an aperture through which the chamber waste container communicates with external atmosphere; both opening and closing elements being installed in the said aperture. The aforesaid control unit closes the aperture, the waste container being installed in the waste container chamber; with the waste container not installed in the waste container chamber, the device opens an aperture to prevent dust intake. Additionally, the vacuum cleaner contains a signal mechanism, which gives a signal that the waste container is not installed in the waste container chamber, as well as a filter and a mechanism for removal of dust from the filter.
