FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of heavy oil residues at high temperature and pressure that includes contact of preheated initial raw material with oxygen-containing gas in cracking reactor, discharge of gaseous products from the top section of cracking reactor and cracking heavy residual from the bottom section of cracking reactor and further extraction of light hydrocarbon fractions by rectification. The method is characterized by condensation and return to the reactor of a part of gaseous products discharged from the reactor top section.
EFFECT: increasing the yield of light products.
