FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: ultrasonic surgical instrument is inserted into an artery through a formed incision. The above instrument is shaped as a thin long screw with holes created in sockets between ribs and connected to a central passage. A pressure reduction in the central passage is ensured by pressing an intima to helical screw ribs. That is followed by removing the instrument together with plaques and other undesired growths pressed to the instrument by the created negative pressure.
EFFECT: method enables the effective deobliteration of arteries, herewith creating a smooth inner surface of arterial walls during the endarterectomy, reducing the length of intervention, providing lower consumption of artificial prostheses, and reducing the risk of re-thrombosis.
