SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of flat articles and can be used in automatic teller machines. The carrier processing device contains the drum, the tape, the detection unit and the controller. The drum is rotated around the central shaft in the centre of the round cylinder. The tape is reeled up on circumferential surface of the drum together with the carrier. Around the circumferential direction of the drum the groove section is formed. Between two sides of the groove section the crossbars are located. The crossbars are located in discrete locations around the circumferential direction of the drum. The detection unit radiates light and receives light which passed through gaps between crossbars. The controller identifies the presence of the reeled-up carrier on the drum.
EFFECT: improvement of accuracy of the carrier processing is provided.
