FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: rotating furnace contains a casing installed with slope, with fuel and air transmitters, resting through bandages on the support rollers, feed pipe for loose material supply and product unloader. Wherein the casing of the rotating furnace is made out of sections with elliptical cross-section, their longitudinal axes are located coaxially with axis of rotation of the furnace, wherein the furnace areas are connected with each other by ellipse-like elements. It seems prudent to make casings of the rotating furnace with slope 3-10°. Each area of the furnace casing has length from 5 to 30 m. Ratio of larger axis of elliptical cross-section of each area of the furnace casing to lower axis is from 1.1/1 to 2/1. The larger axis of the elliptical cross-section of each area of the furnace casing has length up to 10 m.

EFFECT: invention ensures intensification of heat exchange and mixing, liquidation of dead zones during mixing.
