FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: claimed process consists in that, apart from radiation in a preset direction and reception of reflected radar signals with the frequency varying by a linear law, the measurement of the frequency difference between the radiated and reflected signals, extraction of a useful signal and range finding, additionally performed is the scanning of a microstrip antenna pattern. The reflected radar signals for various angular positions of the antenna pattern are irradiated and received. The reflected signal level is measured and the reflected signals are subjected to spectral processing. The results of the said processing and loaded geometrical parameters of the analysed tank are used to calculate the optimum angular position of the antenna pattern. A microstrip antenna pattern control signal is generated. Besides, this invention discloses the radar level meter for the implementation of the above described method.
EFFECT: perfected performances of loose materials level measurement irrespective of the loose material shape, including explosive media.
