FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cutting and mixing of food products. Cutting unit (9) to be fitted in the mixer body comprises cutting tool (1) with several blades (3) and shaft (2). Note here that said blades (3) are engaged with the shaft (2). Body (10) is meant for protection of cutting tool (1) shaft (2). Sealing means (13) serves for tight closure of the mixer body. Cutting unit (9) has two pressure surface (12a, 12b) to be displaced toward each other. Said sealing means (13) is arranged between said pressure surfaces (12a, 12b) to make said surfaces and sealing means expand radially. Mixer body (15) is shaped to, mainly, a hollow cylinder with top and bottom openings (16, 17). Mixer vessel (26 comprises body (15), preferably, the cutting unit (9). Inner surface of said body (15) has a circular profile (19) with contact surface (20) for sealing appliance (13). Vertical mixer (36) comprises at least one of the following components: cutting tool (1), cutting unit (9), body (15), vessel (26 and drive (28).
