RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION METHOD AND DEVICE Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC G06K17/00

Abstract RU 2575683 C2

FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices and methods for reading radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. A method of reading a RFID tag includes the following steps: transmitting, by an antenna, a search signal for detecting the presence of a RFID tag, the search signal including one of broadband signals or a plurality of narrowband signals, consecutively transmitted for scanning a RFID band; reproducing in a processor, when the presence of a RFID tag is detected, an interrogating signal in a digital format, which includes a source signal and a carrier signal, having a given frequency selected from at least two RFID bands associated with the first and second nominal frequencies, where the first nominal frequency is at least double the second allowable frequency, and the two RFID bands comprise a RFID band covered by the search signal; broadcasting the interrogating signal using the antenna; detecting a response from the RFID tag by measuring the change in the antenna voltage; and reading the RFID tag.

EFFECT: enabling reading of tags of different types, having different target frequencies and/or coding schemes.
