FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: before loading into a press, fullerene C60 is held for 30 minutes in a hydrogen current, then placed in a container made of pyrophyllite alone or along with poly[hydrido(H)carbine] in ratio of 1:1, and then loaded with quasi-hydrostatic pressure of 3-5 GPa at temperature of 973-1173 K. The production of artificial diamonds does not require any metal catalysts which reduce the volume occupied by fullerene in the container and also does not require purification of the obtained artificial diamonds from metals.

EFFECT: phase transfer into diamond takes place at lower pressure and temperature values with high output.
