FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: excess-voltage suppressor (1) with a column of variable resistor elements comprises extendable cup (8) for placement of tension ties (4) and their fixation in radial direction. Shape of the cup envisages the preset areas of deformation, and due to it at damage or overload cup (8) receives released energy and retains the grid consisting of tension ties (4) around which cup (8) is laid. At that fragments of variable resistor elements (2) cannot be thrown from the grid.
EFFECT: improved operational reliability due to prevented breakage or damage of tensions ties hold together.
