FIELD: physics, computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to acquire imaging system data. An imaging system comprises: a stationary gantry, a rotating gantry, a radiation source, a detector array and an integration period controller which generates an integration period timing signal which includes timing for the start of each integration period for a revolution of the rotating gantry based at least on the time duration of a previous revolution of the rotating gantry around the examination region, wherein the integration timing signal is used trigger a plurality of integration periods.
EFFECT: improving image quality.
