SUBSTANCE: invention relates to finding of coincidence events in the process of time-of-flight (TOF) positron emission tomography; the invention essence lies in that the positron emission tomography device (100) incorporates multiple systems of detectors (106) sensitive to the emission and the system of selective operation (120); the systems of selective operation identify signals of the detectors (310) associated by registered gamma-emission while omitting the false signals of the detectors (308); a single set of the installment (100) incorporates a time converter - digital code splitting the time measurement interval (Ттах) pursuant to the binary hierarchic decomposition of the level Н, wherein Н is an integral number bigger or equal to the digit one.
EFFECT: enhancement of accuracy of time interval measurements.
