FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine. An impedance sensor comprises n substrate-based microelectrodes with n making from 4 to 30. The microelectrodes are appropriately sized and laid out so as to ensure a simultaneous contact of the microelectrodes and cornea. For the purpose of measuring, the microelectrodes are grouped by 4, including 2 outer microelectrodes and 2 inner microelectrodes. An impedance measurement device comprises the sensor connected to multi-frequency impedance measurement equipment. Using the sensor and impedance measurement device for determining the functional characteristics of the cornea.
EFFECT: using this group of inventions is expected to provide more accurate diagnosis of the corneal health.
