FIELD: floristry.
SUBSTANCE: method of Gypsophila plant preservation and colouring involves selection, cutting and cleaning of flowers. Then the prepared flowers are immersed for 54 hours in sealed opaque containers with a solution of glyceryl stearate in distilled water at ratio of 1:10, respectively, at 36–58 °C. Then one performs subsequent immersion of flowers for 64 hours in sealed opaque containers with a solution of phytosphingosine and distilled water at ratio of 3:10, respectively, at 28–33 °C and their subsequent immersion for 12 hours in sealed opaque containers with solution containing 10–15% betaine in distilled water and a dye, at 36–40 °C. Then the flowers are removed from the solution and dried in a drying chamber at 70 °C.
EFFECT: proposed method of Gypsophila plant preservation and colouring provides preservation of fresh flower texture without cell damage, distortion and twisting.
