SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to eliminate and prevent iron deficiency while simultaneous increasing the antioxidant activity of the blood serum of calves, as well as reducing the pro-oxidant action of iron on the background of hypovitaminosis E. The method comprises the use of complex oral iron-containing preparation Bio-iron with micro-elements from the 3^rd to the 30^th day of life in a dose of 0.1 ml/kg body weight for calves and piglets, followed by single intramuscular administration on the 10^th day of life of the complex iron-dextran preparation Sedimin-Se+ at a dose of 2 ml for piglets and 5 ml for calves.

EFFECT: method is highly effective in treatment and prevention of iron deficiency in calves and piglets.
