FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, represents electromagnetic transducer and can be used in Nondestructive Inspection of thickness of coating from non-conducting material on current-conducting substrate. Converter has a ferromagnetic core, on which there are exciting coil and two measuring coils connected with measuring circuit. On top of the excitation coil there is short-circuited turn. On working surface of the core there is a layer of titanium carbonitride TiCN of thickness 2.5÷5.0 microns.

EFFECT: high stability of readings of thickness gauge by reducing absolute deviation of output voltage electromagnetic converter when measuring small thickness of non-conducting coating on current-conducting base, higher wear resistance of working surface of the core.
