FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and is intended for optimization of APA length measurement in patients with mature cataract. To measure the anteroposterior axis (APA) of eyes in mature cataract is first to localize FZ is axial in scanning of the eye, using high-frequency linear sensor 10-16 Mhz to obtain simultaneous image of the cornea, front and rear surface of the lens, posterior pole of eye, optic nerve. On the obtained image a mark is set in the centre of the optic disk (VND) and the centre of the lens. They are connected with the first conditional line. Then through the centre of the lens, the second conditional line arranged laterally relative to the first at an angle of 15°. FZ is determined at the intersection of the second conditional line with shells posterior pole of eye. Distance of a lateral edge of the OPTIC DISC to FZ. It is followed by immersion A-B-scanning, where axial B-scanning of the eye is performed to obtain simultaneous image of the cornea, front and rear surface of the lens, posterior pole of eye, optic nerve and a-scan with registration of maximum echo peaks from cornea, front and rear surface of the lens, posterior pole of eye in the area. Latter is defined by a vector through eye, remote from the lateral edge of the OPTIC DISC at the distance determined earlier, and the unknown value of APA of eye is determined by measuring the distance between a-echo peaks from cornea to posterior pole of eye.
EFFECT: method enables providing more reliable measurement of APA of eye in the patients with mature cataract for optimisation calculation of the IOL.
