SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to rail tank cars. Locking device of a rail tank car comprises control handles in the area of a filling neck of the tank car, a main gate located in the lower part of the tank car in the area of outlet openings of a drain branch pipe, and additional gate located at the end of the tank car drain branch pipe. Gates are made in the form of ball valves. In the body of every tank car there is a groove (10) with a blocking up surface; rolling body contacting with the valve axis is located in the groove. Blocking up surface is made in the form of an elastic beam (13). In closed state of the main gate lever (15) presses membrane (14) to the end of elastic beam (13) of the main gate, while limiter projection (17) of limiter (18) touches the end of beam (13) of additional gate, which prevents opening of these elements. To drain a liquid product from the tank car (22), transferred lever (15) is transferred into the position releasing membrane (14); at that, it is necessary to press limiter (18) for removal of projection (17) from the end of beam (13) of the additional gate and to turn axes (7) and (8) counter clockwise.

EFFECT: invention simplifies the design and improves operational characteristics.
